There is no shame in getting food assistance– the only shame is on the structure of our systems, which inherently creates food insecurity and food apartheids within our communities most in need.
Information about applying. Also available in 7+ other languages. If you need emergency food assistance, please see the 'Food Pantries / Soup Kitchens' post, locate your nearest Community Fridge, or for immediate options or call "311" and ask about the Emergency Food Assistance Program.
Link to apply online. You can also fax your documents for submission to 917-639-2544, mail them to "Centralized Recertification Mail Unit, PO Box 29008, Brooklyn, NY 11202," or pick up or print out an application and bring it back to a SNAP Center.
